The most common ways to sprain your ankle in football
One of the most common football injuries involves the ankle. Block tackles, striking a ball wrong, landing awkwardly after a header or avoiding a sliding tackle can all end up with you getting this football injury.
EVEN at the top level, sprained ankles can happen. All it takes is a trip, late tackle or a mis-judged landing. Another typical example is when a player bursts past an opponent and a late tackle catches the trailing foot form behind. The foot is forced inwards causing damage to the outside of the ankle, the weakest part.
