The Football Transfer Forum explained
What is The Football Transfer Forum?
The Football Transfer Forum is a twice yearly, invite only, networking event held before each of the UK football transfer windows. It is hosted at various football stadiums around England, except FTF 7 held in France. Sporting Directors, Heads of Recruitment, Scouts, Intermediaries/Agents and companies with a football industry presence attend.
The first event is before (usually April) the summer transfer window which is 14th of June – 1st of September, with the second event prior to (usually November) the winter window of 1st - 31st of January. This gives the attendees plenty of time to network and present potential deals to each other or introduce one another for future business.
When is the next Football Transfer Forum?
The next Football Transfer Forum is at St James Park, home of Premier League side Newcastle United. FTF 10 will be held on Thursday the 30th of November 2023.
Who started The Football Transfer Forum?
The Football Transfer Forum is the brainchild of football agent Tony Sharkey and developed alongside football executive Ryan McKnight. The aim was to create an industry-focused event for individuals, clubs and companies to discuss and collaborate in person on all aspects of player/coach and staff recruitment. As well as a premium networking opportunity, it has experts and operators from the football industry knowledge share in a series of keynote talks on the day.

One of the uniques features of the The Football Transfer Forum is the brilliant guest speakers who appear there. Some of football's most eminent entities have spoken. These include Adrian Bevington (The FA), Steve Walsh (Leicester City), Les Reed (UEFA), Steve McClaren (Manchester United), Victor Orta (Leeds United), Tan Kesler (Hull City), Fergal Harkin (Standard Liege), Kieran Maguire (The Price of Football), Chris Brass (Nottingham Forest), Lee Dykes (Brentford), Mariela Nisotaki (Norwich City), Ben Knapper (Arsenal) and Huw Jenkins (Swansea chairman) to name a few.
